In this class, students will create their own pencil skirt by learning how to read and understand all symbols and guide sheets of a pattern. Sept. 15 – Oct. 27 (skip Oct. 6) Make contemporary ceramic sculptures that combine wheel throwing and hand building techniques. During the class you’ll use the pottery wheel to make thrown components to be joined with handbuilt pieces to create ceramic sculptures which may be functional or decorative. This course will study and explore a variety of handbuilding, wheel throwing and glazing techniques and combine aspects of each into surprising creations. Sept. 21 – Oct. 26 Explore the art of letterpress printing using handset metal and wood types, linocut and traditional letterpress cuts and photo polymer plates. Class | Darkroom Photography 101

Sept. 21 – Oct. 12 Learn how to process and print your own black and white photographic prints in a traditional darkroom. This introductory course will teach you the basic functions of a manual camera while working with 35mm film, the steps of film processing, and give you the skills necessary to print your photographs in an analog darkroom.
