CAREER ASSESSMENTS:

Coming Fall 2015: Creative Career Path Inventory (CCPI)!

You are going to art school so the logical career path for you is artist, right? Of course! However, what can you do with an art degree? What skills, besides art-making, do you need to develop if you want to be an animator at a large company or a gallery owner who also shows their own work or a teacher in K-12 or college or many, many other things? The CCPI will help you learn all about all of this and provide a structure for pursuing your career goals so when you graduate, you are ready!

To get started, contact Carrie Brooks for more information at cbrooks@mca.edu or 901-272-5160.

Know Your Strengthstake the VIA (Values in Action) to understand your character strengths to optimize your individuality and personal and professional capacities.

You must register for the free assessment, but you can opt out of future emails from the organization. Once you have completed the assessment (it takes 20-30 minutes), print your five VIA Character Strengths and set up an appointment with the Career Services Director by emailing cbrooks@mca.edu to discuss them.

Know Your Personality…take the free Personality Test to understand your personality attributes and how they relate to your professional life. Once you have completed the assessment (it takes 10-15 minutes), print your “type” and set up an appointment with the Career Services Director by emailing cbrooks@mca.edu to discuss your results.

Students will find a companion book, Do What You Are: Discover the Perfect Career for You Through the Secrets of Personality Type in the MCA Library. This book offers career-related information about your personality type, including strengths for each type, occupation categories and job titles,  and pathways for success.
