SUMMER ART CAMP 2016
Explore, discover, create and have fun in Memphis College of Art’s Summer Art Camp. We offer accomplished teaching artists, small class sizes, flexible schedules, a variety of media and excellent facilities. Classes range from exploratory creative expression to rigorous investigation of design principles. We are committed to nurturing children’s love for creating art, whatever their age, interest or skill level may be.

We offer flexible scheduling, with week-long sessions and morning and afternoon classes. Campers can attend half day (morning or afternoon) or full day. Extended care is also available before and after camp hours for an additional fee.
Morning session: 9 a.m.–noon
Afternoon session: 1–4 p.m.
Full day: 9 a.m.–4 p.m.
Extended care mornings: 8–9 a.m.
Extended care afternoons: 4–5 p.m.
Our instructors are trained artists who love teaching and sharing the joy of art-making with others. Summer Art Camp instructors have earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and some hold higher degrees and/or teaching certificates. Most classes also have a dedicated adult teaching assistant, making the adult/child ratio no greater than 1 to 8. All Summer Art Camp administrators, instructors and staff are carefully screened and subjected to a nationwide background check.
Full-day tuition: $340/week
Half-day tuition: $170/week
Tuition includes supplies and equipment, except where noted in the class description.
Mornings: 8–9 a.m.: $25/week
Afternoons: 4–5 p.m.: $25/week
Morning and Afternoon: $50/week
Don’t miss our fabulous Summer Art Camp Showcase! We’ll select one piece of artwork from each camper to display in our Main Gallery. Families are invited to view the show at any time, but a reception in honor of our young artists will be held at the close of the exhibition. We hope you can attend.
Rust Hall, Main Gallery

Held in picturesque Cameron-Brown Park, this camp lets kids ages 4 to 6 discover drawing, painting and other engaging art media in a beautiful, natural setting. Supplies are provided. Bring a snack. Preschoolers and rising Kindergarteners (age 4–5) explore art-making in a fun, age-appropriate environment in Summer Art Camp Junior. This year’s theme is Art Farm. Camp is held Monday through Thursday, Dates TBA, 9:30–11:30 a.m. Tuition is $125 and includes all supplies.

For high school juniors and seniors interested in a rigorous and focused study in art, this class provides the opportunity to develop techniques in drawing, 2D design, and color. We will discuss some of the ways admission committees assess portfolios, and provide you with a head start on preparing your college application. You will also learn to properly photograph your artwork and gain experience in participating in studio critiques. Open to rising high school juniors and seniors. Tuition: $340, includes supplies and equipment.
