Memphis College of Art Names Carrie Allison Brooks Director of Career Services

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis College of Art announced that Dr. Carrie Allison Brooks has joined the college’s administrative staff as director of career services. Brooks will be responsible for all career services for students, which includes educational programming, tracking student placement data, internships, and the college’s Give Back community service program.

Brooks joins the college after 15 years’ experience in career advising, project coordination and implementation, and adult and leadership education. Carrie founded and directs Making a Difference in Memphis: Volunteer Leadership Development Institute, a local project incubator for volunteers wanting to improve the quality of life in the community. Previously, Brooks held positions in career services, recruitment and project management with The University of Memphis, Memphis City Schools and Memphis College of Art.

Brooks obtained a B.A. in English from The University of Mississippi, and a M.S. in Counseling and Student Personnel Services and an Ed.D. in Higher and Adult Education from the University of Memphis.

“I had the pleasure of working with Carrie when she worked for Memphis College of Art as an admissions counselor and director of student life in the 1990s, and I am delighted to welcome her back to our staff,” explained MCA Vice President for Enrollment and Student Affairs Susan Miller. “She has excellent, relevant experience in career services and will greatly enhance our ability to ensure that our students have the skills and education to transition to the working world.”
