Memphis College of Art Names Cara Sievers Director 
of College Communications

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis College of Art announced that Cara Sievers has joined the college’s administrative staff as director of college communications. Sievers will be responsible for the coordination of both internal and external communication and overseeing the strategies to establish MCA’s relevance locally, regionally and nationally.

Sievers joins the college after 12 years’ experience in corporate communications, marketing/advertising, public relations and journalism/publishing. She most recently served on the corporate culture and communications team at Pinnacle Airlines Corp., where she was responsible for leading several communications campaigns and public relations initiatives.

Sievers obtained her BS in Communications with a concentration in Public Relations from University of Tennessee, Knoxville, along with an MA in Communications from Auburn University. Sievers is also an active member of the Junior League of Memphis and the Community Foundation of Greater Memphis’ Give 365 initiative.

“Our search for the right person for this position was conducted by a panel of MCA faculty, staff, board members and community partners, and everyone had Cara high on their list,” explained MCA President Dr. Ron Jones. “We are delighted to have her on our team, and I am confident she will bring about dramatic and positive changes in the college’s communication efforts.”
