Memphis College of Art Debuts Master of Fine Art Graduate Exhibition

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis College of Art proudly presents, “Influx: A Thesis Exhibition of Memphis College of Art’s MFA Students,” the exhibition of thesis artwork from the Spring 2012 Master of Fine Art graduates. On display will be works by Josh Bagwell, Josh Brinlee, Jay Crum, Dennis Isom, Carl E. Moore, Kong Wee Pang, Livia Ortiz-Rios and Kim Thomas from April 18 through May 12 in the Hyde Gallery of the Nesin Graduate School, 477 S. Main St. The Opening Reception is on April 27, 6–9 p.m., coinciding with Trolley Night in the South Main Art District.

The range of media and subject matter, showing an array of material handling and conceptual concerns, are as diverse as the eight exhibiting artists themselves. Included are paintings, drawings, digital images, mixed media, sculpture, video, installation and performance works.

Admission to the April 27 Opening Reception is free. The exhibition is open to the public for viewing at no charge, Wednesday–Saturday, noon – 5 p.m. Large school groups are welcome to contact Cat Pena at 901-272-5174 to arrange visits during off-hours.
