This Illustration Workshop provides an introduction to the ideation process that is essential to the practice of illustration. Brainstorming, composition, reference gathering, narrative intent and visual communication will be emphasized. The class will consist of a project that focuses primarily on composition and using visuals to convey a narrative and mood, another that focuses on creating a conceptual portrait, and finally an assignment that challenges students to create a visual adaptation of a short fiction piece. Adult Continuing Education course (non-credit).
