Memphis College of Art will present the 2014 Biennial Alumni Exhibition from May 21 through July 26 in the Hyde Gallery, Nesin Graduate School, 477 S. Main St. An opening reception will be held on Friday, May 30, 6–9 p.m. and a closing reception on Friday, July 25, 6–9 p.m.
Juror Richard Lou, chairman of the Department of Art at the University of Memphis, selected works from thirty-eight alumni for the exhibition. Artists include Melanie T. Anderson, Jennifer Barnett Hensel, Alla Bartoshchuk, Eric Beavers, Katie Benjamin, Wayne Edge, Hannah Evangeline King, Jason Falconer, Adam Farmer, Annette Fournet, Louis Giberson, Caroline Gustafson, Greg Gustafson, Jan Hankins, Dani Harris, Pam Hassler, Carlos Hooper, Jed Jackson, Jay McClellan, Katie McWeeney, Annabelle Meacham, Kevin Mitchell, Alex Paulus, Teresa Phipps, Elizabeth Pontvik, Deeann Rieves, John Robinette, Marc Rouillard, Jeanne Seagle, Garen Shrader, Michael Sloan, Eszter Sziksz, David Tempelhoff, Rebecca Tickle, Lance Turner, Ben Utigard, Brittany Vega, and Chloe York.

MCA alumni have built successful careers as art directors and designers, art therapists, gallery directors, department chairs, art professors and instructors and independent artists. Many of our alumni hold positions as principals, CEOs, directors and designers in foremost design and architectural firms, and MCA’s influence can be seen in major corporations and eminent art galleries throughout the world. MCA alumni also make great teachers. We have K–12 art teachers in countless different school systems across the country. Our graduates can also be found in higher education. MCA alumni are chairs, professors and instructors in the most distinguished art and design colleges from coast to coast. MCA alumni are successful, nationally and internationally recognized independent artists—award-winning premier artists and designers spanning over seven decades. The paths taken by our graduates are varied, but there is no doubt that MCA alumni are productive and successful citizens leaving their mark on the world’s landscape.
