MCA Student Exhibition at Brinkley Plaza

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Select work by Memphis College of Art students will be on display in the Fall 2013 Brinkley Plaza Exhibition, opening with a reception on Friday, Oct. 25, 5–7 p.m. at Brinkley Plaza, 80 Monroe Ave. The exhibition will be on view through the end of November.

The show is a juried exhibition of small and mid-sized works submitted by current bachelor’s and master’s students following a campus-wide call to artists. This recurring exhibition takes place each semester and provides an opportunity for students to compete to have their work displayed during Trolley Night in a prominent, high-traffic Memphis venue and include the show in their portfolios.

Included works were selected by Kathryn Maish, a visual arts and museum professional based in Memphis, who holds an MFA in Photography and a graduate certificate in Museum Studies from the University of Memphis. Maish currently works at the C.H. Nash Museum at Chucalissa and maintains the Visual Memphis web page, which provides up-to-date information on Memphis’ visual arts scene.
