MCA Hosts National Portfolio Day

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis College of Art is hosting National Portfolio Day on Saturday, Oct. 13. National Portfolio Days are educational events for young artists. The events are held at host colleges throughout the United States and Canada. Portfolio Days bring together students and experienced college representatives who review artwork, offer critique, discuss college plans and share information about their schools.

At Portfolio Day, students get a small taste of what it could be like to attend a professional art program. They will see a variety of artworks created at different levels by young artists with varying skills and experiences, and they will have the opportunity to hear many different opinions about their work.

A schedule of the day is as follows:

10 – 11 a.m.: Registration, tours of MCA

11 – 11:20 a.m.: Financial Aid presentation

11:20 – 11:40 a.m.: Careers in Art presentation

11:40 a.m. – Noon: How to Prepare a Scholarship-Winning Portfolio presentation

Noon – 4 p.m.: Portfolio reviews

The Association consists of representatives from regionally accredited colleges and universities that are members of the National Association of Schools of Art and Design. The NPDA is the only organization of its kind, and its membership represents the highest standard of visual arts education available in the United States and Canada. Visit for further information.
