MCA Hosts National Portfolio Day

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis College of Art will host National Portfolio Day on Saturday, Oct. 12 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.

National Portfolio Days are educational events for young artists held at colleges throughout the United States and Canada. Portfolio Days bring together students and experienced college representatives who review artwork, offer critique, discuss college plans and share information about their schools. The events provide a taste of what it would be like to attend a professional art college.

The day’s schedule is as follows:

10–11 a.m.: Registration and Campus Tours of MCA
11 a.m.–noon: Financial Aid, Careers in Art, Portfolio Preparation presentations
Noon–4 p.m.: Portfolio Reviews

The National Portfolio Day Association (NPDA) was created in 1978 and consists of representatives from regionally accredited colleges and universities that are members of the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD), which represents the highest standard of visual arts education available in the United States and Canada.
