Graduate MFA Programs to Host Open House April 29

MEMPHIS, Tenn. —Memphis College of Art will host an MFA Open House for prospective students on Friday, April 29 from 6–9 p.m. in the Nesin Graduate School, 477 S. Main St. The event is free and open to the public, and will take place concurrently with the reception in Hyde Gallery for Hueman: MFA Thesis Exhibition.

Guests attending the Open House will have the opportunity to review their portfolio with a representative of the college, in addition to touring the studios of current MFA students. The tour will give guests an inside look at the various bodies of work by current MFA students, and will allow guests to interact directly with the students to discuss their program and scope of their work.

MCA offers Master of Fine Art degrees in Illustration, Metals, Painting/Drawing, Photography and Studio Art. All tracks are two-year programs and are considered the terminal degree for the studio disciplines. The coursework allows students to develop the critical and conceptual structure of their work, with the support of advisors and elective studio and criticism classes. All MFA students complete work in an individual studio space for the duration of their program.
