MCA Announces Graduate Art Education Thesis Exhibition
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis College of Art announces the opening of the 2014 Graduate Art Education Thesis Exhibition, which will take place March 12 through April 5 in the Hyde Gallery of the Nesin Graduate School, 477 S. Main St. A reception for the exhibition will be held on Friday, March 28 from 6–9 p.m.
The exhibition features artwork from eight candidates for the Masters of Art and Teaching in Art Education and the Masters of Art in Art Education degrees, marking a culminating experience for the candidates and demonstrating the Art Education program’s commitment to an artist/teacher model. Candidates will exhibit paintings, photographs, illustrations and small metals work.
Participating Masters candidates include Riley Adams, Mahir Bildik, Rachel Crown, Jessica Gaston-Hardy, Joel Hilgenberg, Katherine Jones, Monique Smith and La’Sandria Ward.
Hyde Gallery hours are Wednesday–Saturday, noon–5 p.m. The gallery will be open from 6–9 p.m. on March 28 for the opening reception. The exhibition and reception are free and open to the public.
