Our Mission: Memphis College of Art is dedicated to teaching the practice, history and appreciation of visual art and design, preparing students to succeed in their careers and change the world through their creativity. MCA traces its origins back to 1936, when it was then known as the Memphis Academy of Arts. Today, MCA’s rigorous liberal and fine arts curriculum generates the creative class of citizens and thinkers essential to the 21st century economy. Artists possess the skills sought by employers of the third millennium. They strengthen the economy, foster true prosperity, and attract tourism. Research conducted by the University of Pennsylvania reveals that “a high concentration of artists in a city leads to lower poverty rates, higher and better civic engagement, greater child welfare, and social cohesion.” Your gift to MCA helps in all of these practical and noble ways. Every gift is important and greatly appreciated by MCA and its students! And there are many meaningful ways to give. Please explore the host of giving opportunities by visiting the links to the left.

We invite you to view our current Growth Report to learn more about the visually stimulating and meaningful accomplishments made possible by our donors’ immense generosity. Thank you!
