Election Week Photobooth

November 3, 2016November 9, 2016

Election Week Photobooth

Come celebrate your right to vote by taking a “selfie” in MCA’s giant photobooth, November 3–9. In celebration of the democratic process and Americans’ right to vote, MCA will host a giant photobooth during election week for the public. Former MCA board member Penn Owen is lending his oversized, 20’ x 30’ American flag to hang from the front of Rust Hall, and props inspired by the voting process and American history will be available for guests to pose with. The props were created by students in MCA’s Give Back program, which provides opportunities throughout the school year for special merit scholarship recipients to participate in community service projects. Props include cutouts of an I Voted sticker, the Statue of Liberty, Hillary Clinton power suit, Donald Trump hair, Abraham Lincoln top hat and beard, Republican elephant and Democrat donkey, and George Washington wig, among many others. Members of the public are especially encouraged and invited to come by the college after they vote to take their photo.

We want to see your pictures! Post the images on social media with the hashtags #Election2016 and #artofthevote. Tag Memphis College of Art on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram! Read more…

Props will be available to the public on top of the Rust Hall steps from 8:30 a.m.–9 p.m. each day.
