The Golden Foundation 2014 Artist Residency

The Naomi Winston Scholarship in Art
Sponsored by The National Society of Arts and Letters – $10,000 in Scholarships
OPEN TO: U.S. citizens between 16 and 22 years of age
AREA OF STUDY/EXPERTISE: Drawing, Painting, Mixed Media
DEADLINE: Deadline has past, check back for the 2014 deadline

1 – A CD in jpeg high quality format, images of five (5) art works done within the past two years.
2 – The art work must be original. Can be realistic, abstract or expressive.
3 – Works must be two-dimensional and may be on paper, canvas, masonite, metal or wood panels in pencil, pen, charcoal, watercolor, oil or acrylic paints, mixed media or original prints. Photographs, computer graphics and three-dimensional works are excluded.

ADDITIONAL INFO: The scholarship funds are for private study, special training or personal advancement in the applicant’s chosen art medium. The funds can be used for workshops, museum programs, summer programs, etc. The funds cannot be used for college tuition, housing or travel. The maximum amount a first place winner can receive is $5,000.

Cynthia and Alan Baran Fine Arts and Music Scholarship Fund
Community Foundation Scholarship of Middle Tennessee
OPEN TO: Full or Part time Sophomores, Juniors, Seniors and graduate students enrolled at an accredited college, institute or university
AREA OF STUDY/EXPERTISE: Painting, Drawing, Sculpture, Ceramics, Photography, Printmaking
DEADLINE: Deadline has past, check back for the 2014 deadline

ADDITIONAL INFO: Eligible applicants are rising sophomores, juniors, seniors in college, and graduate students at an accredited college, university or institute full-time or part-time (6 or more credit hours). One scholarship will be granted to students enrolled in a Bachelors of Fine Art (BFA), a BA in Studio Art, or a Masters of Fine Arts (MFA). Fine Art or Studio Art is limited to a major course of study in Painting, Drawing, Sculpture, Ceramics, Photography or Printmaking. A second scholarship will be made to a Music Degree granting program (Bachelor or Masters) with preference given to those students pursuing a course of study in acoustic mandolin or acoustic guitar. Applicants must maintain a 3.0 or better GPA.


King Family Scholarship Award

AMOUNT: $3,500
OPEN TO:  full-time film or television major in your junior or senior year at a degree-granting program at a 4-year U.S. college or university

2013-2014 Worldstudio AIGI Scholarships

AMOUNT: $2,000-$5,000
OPEN TO: U.S. citizens or those possessing a Green Card, Undergraduate and Graduate students, those maintaining full-time enrollment for the 13/14 academic year and have at least a 2.0 GPA, must demonstrate financial need
AREA OF STUDY/EXPERTISE: Fine arts, Graphic design, Illustration, Interactive design/motion graphics, photography

Print and Graphics Scholarship Foundation
Printing Industries of America
AMOUNT:  $2,000 – $5,000
OPEN TO: Full-time undergraduate graphic design majors with a GPA of 3.0 or higher

Krylon Clear Choice Art Scholarship Application Information

OPEN TO: High School Seniors (graduating before July 1, 2013), college freshman and sophomore students in the United States and Canada. Must be enrolled or accepted and seeking a degree at a U.S. or Canadian university, college or art school as a declared major in a visual arts program
AREA OF STUDY/EXPERTISE: Painting, drawing, sketching (no graphic design or film)

REQUIREMENTS: Portfolio, artist’s statement, letter of recommendation, transcript (s)

OPEN TO: Sculpture students (or art students who can produce sculptures) who attend accredited U.S. institutions and who can demonstrate financial need
AREA OF STUDY/EXPERTISE: Sculpture, All Majors

ADDITIONAL INFO: You will need to fill out a scholarship application, a biography or resume that explains your background in sculpture, two letters of recommendation, a CD with 10-18 images of at least six different sculptures by the applicant, proof of financial need.
