Grants are need-based aid that does not have to be repaid. They are reserved for students with the highest financial need.

The Expected Family Contribution (EFC) number generated by the FAFSA determines your eligibility. Some awards have limited funding, and they are available on a first-come, first-served basis. FAFSA applications are available each October 1. Figures can be estimated and updated after taxes are filed.

Apply for Grants Annually

Your first step is to complete the FAFSA. The priority deadline is February 15. MCA’s federal school code is 003507.

Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant

Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants (FSEOG) are for undergraduates with exceptional financial need. To get a FSEOG, you must fill out the FAFSA so UT can determine how much financial need you have. Students who will receive Federal Pell Grants and have the most financial need will receive FSEOGs first. The FSEOG does not need to be repaid.

Iraq and Afghanistan Service Grant

If your parent or guardian died as a result of military service in Iraq or Afghanistan, you may be eligible for an Iraq and Afghanistan Service Grant. However, these grants have special eligibility criteria.
