BFA in Photography

Program Mission:

The photography program at MCA investigates the contemporary medium of photography using digital and film technologies as tools to create successful images. The program thrives on the diversity of the goals, aesthetics and concepts of its students, faculty and guests. Students are encouraged to find their voice in photography while learning every major tool in the photographic medium. The goal of the program is to prepare students for success in any field of photography they choose to partake upon graduation.

MCA offers a major and a concentration in photography. The difference between the two programs is that the photography major requires students to take in-depth coursework in all major areas of contemporary photography. The concentration coursework will provide a breadth of photographic techniques and themes but will allow the student to take more studio electives. These electives can either become a second concentration in another area of the college or a multi-discipline foundation of diverse studio techniques.
