Class Changes – Drop / Add / Withdrawal
You may drop or add courses during the first week of the semester, and no notation will appear on your transcript. MCA permits withdrawal from a course through the eighth week of the semester, whereupon the Registrar will issue you the letter grade W. After the eighth week, the Registrar will record withdrawal as an F, except in unusual circumstances as determined by the Academic Dean.

Friday, August 22: Last day to add a course
Friday, August 29: Last day to drop a course (without a “W”)
Friday, October 24: Last day to withdraw from a course (with a “W”)
Advising and Registration for the Spring 2015 semester
The Spring 2015 Schedule of Classes will be available by 5 pm on Friday, October 3, 2014 (the PDF will be posted below). All students are encouraged to meet with their faculty advisor between October 6-17 (except Fall Break, Oct. 13-14) during the advisor’s office hours as posted on the MCA website: http://mca.edu/academics/registrar/academic-advisors/.
An Advising Night (with dinner and registration) will be held in the Main Gallery of Rust Hall on Thursday, Oct. 16, from 4-7 p.m. where students can meet with their faculty advisor (if they have not done so already).
To register, a student must complete the Registration Form, attain his or her advisor’s approval on the Registration Form, and submit it to the Registrar’s Office.
Registration Forms should be submitted before or by 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 17 to the Registrar’s Office. All registrations received by 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 17 are processed together. Registrations received after 5 p.m. are late and may result in a student having a greater likelihood of being placed on a class wait list or the necessity of selecting alternative classes. After registrations are processed, Student Schedules will be available for pick up from the Registrar’s Office on and after Wednesday, Nov. 5.
Advising and Registration for the Summer 2015 terms
The Summer 2015 Schedule of Classes will be available by 5 pm on Friday, October 3, 2014 (the PDF will be posted below). With faculty advisor’s approval (and signature), students may submit a completed Registration Form before or on Friday, October 17 to the Registrar’s Office. (Exception: Registration for Horn Island will not begin until late February 2015.) Unlike other semesters, Registration Forms for summer are not considered late if submitted after Oct. 17 and are processed separately. Student Schedules for Summer 2015 will be available for pick up from the Registrar’s Office on and after Wednesday, Nov. 5.
