Adam Hawk received his BFA in Metalsmithing and Computer Arts from MCA and his MFA in blacksmith from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Hawk’s current work is a response to forms found in both urban and natural settings focusing on the theoretical ideals of art versus craft. Hawk’s work has recently been exhibited at the National Ornamental Metal Museum, Appalachian Center for Crafts, Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum and the Fuller Craft Museum. Professor Hawk teaches 3-D Design and Introduction to Metalsmithing, as well as occasional special topics courses such as Furniture Design and Steel Sculpture.
