Memphis College of Art Unveils Summer Art Camp Showcase
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis College of Art is proud to present the 2012 Summer Art Camp Showcase in the Main Gallery of Rust Hall in Overton Park at 1930 Poplar Ave. The showcase will be on display July 21–29, and the closing reception takes place on Sunday, July 29 at 2–4 p.m.
The showcase will feature more than 400 works of art from artists ages 4 to 18. The pieces are the result of four fun-filled weeks of Summer Art Camp, and utilize a range of media from painting to sculpture to photography and digital arts.
“The annual Summer Art Camp Showcase is my favorite event of the year by far,” said Cece Palazola, director of community education for Memphis College of Art. “The quality of the work is impressive, but the best part is watching how proud the children are to share their creations. Every year, more and more people come to view this unique exhibition—it’s definitely worth a visit.”
Rust Hall’s Main Gallery is open Monday–Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Sunday, noon to 4 p.m.
